200 days old

When Theo was born, Karena joined a few WhatsApp groups connecting herself with other mothers with child born around the same time, one for the same month, and one for the same day — those who were also born on July 12, 2017. 

On their 200 days old, a group of the mothers decided to host a birthday to celebrate their 200th day in this world. It was my first time being at such party with a big group of babies, all around the same age.

It was interesting to see how different babies develop within the same time as Theo and see each of their strengths and weaknesses. Definitely there were some friendly comparing, such as Theo has always needed to be rocked to sleep, while other babies are able to sleep by themselves. Some babies could lie on the ground themselves for hours without making a sound, while Theo would require constant attention.

Through this party, I was able to see how Theo interacts with other children in a social setting. It was nice to see he was not afraid of strangers, but he was definitely an observer — watching others play or cry when he first arrived at the party. Theo was one of the first few who could stand.
