First Cruise Trip

Hubbard Glacier

Our journey continues after Canada… we head to Alaska from Vancouver onboard a cruise ship. Finally a time to relax on the boat. Theo had lots of opportunities to walk onboard the ship and become really confident with his balancing skills on a rocky boat.

It’s not only the first time for Theo to be on a cruise ship, it’s also Karena’s first time on a cruise ship, and the whole family’s first time to the state of Alaska - Many firsts for us, and plenty more to come. He was particularly interested in seeing the waves running against the cruise ship and be able to see stars “twinkling” in the sky.

We visited the Icy Strait Point in Hoonah and we saw large tall trees. It’s the first time for him to really embrace the nature as it’s quite difficult in Hong Kong to see tall trees that size, and be able to hear different birds “tweet.”

From then, we also visited the Hubbard Glacier in eastern Alaksa, and we saw first hand icebergs calving off which was pretty amazing.

Overall, it was just quality time for the family.
